IMPORTANT RACE INSTRUCTIONS!

 Thank you for participating in the 2nd annual RunGirl 13.1 event. The following instructions are designed to help make your race as trouble free and safe as possible.

 

Parking

Please following the parking directions on race day morning and park as directed. The main lot is at the boat dock area. There are other smaller parking areas around the park. Refer to parking maps on http://www.hcp1.org/PDeussen/DeussenPark.pdf

The Start/Race

The 13.1 mile will start on the road in front of the Open Air Pavilion. The race starts at 8:00 sharp. Listen for last minute instructions, course or weather information. Water/aid stations will be located around miles 1.5, 3, 4.5, 5.5, 7, 9, 10.5 and 11.5 mile marks on the course. There will be water, Gatorade and energy gels at the water stations. If you need something specific, please carry it with you. There will be portable toilets positioned along the course along with several park restroom facilities. Water/medical aid will also be located at the finish area. Only registered runners allowed on the course. The course is two loops.  Please review the course map on back.

 

Race Number and Chips

Your race number must be worn on the front of your body. The timing device will be attached to your race number and handed out with your packet.  It is a disposable tag. DO NOT REMOVE THE TAG FROM YOUR RACE BIB.  Do not fold or cut your race bib.  Do not cover with clothing. It must be visible.  You will not receive a time if it is altered in any way.

 

2-Person Relay

The halfway mark is at 6.55 miles. There will be a chip mat for the relay participants to run over and tag the second runner.  The second runner should be waiting on the other side of the mat. THE SECOND RUNNER MUST BE CAREFUL TO STAY CLEAR OF THE TIMING MAT UNTIL THE FIRST RUNNER CROSSES. Relay members are responsible for getting to and from the hand off area.

 

Finish area

Upon crossing the finish line timing mat, your time will automatically be recorded. DO NOT STOP after you cross the Finish Line. Please move through the Finish area to receive water and your medal.

Post Race Party in the Senior Center

Massage by Koala Health and Wellness.  After the race all runners may enjoy food and drink.  There will be breakfast tacos by Juan Big Burrito and Good Morning Sunshine by My Fit Foods.  There will also be Bundtinis by Nothing Bundt Cakes.  After all entrants have completed the course, awards and door prize drawings will be given out.

Course:   The 13.1 mile run will run through Deussen Park and Eisenhower Park.  It will be a loop course with one big loop of Eisenhower park and a second shorter loop through Eisenhower park.   Water, gatorade and other items every 1.5 miles along the course.
 
This is a USATF sanctioned event.  All participants will be required to sign a waiver.
 
Time Limit:  You must complete the 13.1 mile course in 4 hours.  We will try to be lenient with this since we want everyone to finish. 

Awards: Awards will be given to overall finisher, overall master finisher and 5 deep in 5 year age groups.  Custom medals will be given to all finishers.

Shirts: If you registered before Dec. 1, you are guaranteed your shirt size.  For those who registered after 12/1, we will try our best to get you the correct size.  You will only be given the shirt you registered for...no exchanges until race day.
 
Chips: This race will be timed by Run Wild Sports Timing. You will be required to wear a timing chip to cross the finish line. CHIPS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED WITH YOUR PACKET.

Refund Policy: NO refunds or transfers for races.  The race directors shall make a decision concerning the safety of the participants in the event any portion of the race or the entire race need to be cancelled for weather or any reason out of their control.
